Ochsner Air Eagle

The OCHSNER AIR EAGLE is the most efficient (adjustable speed) air/water heat pump, as measured by the prestigious Swiss Buchs heat pump test centre (SCOP 4.5 @ P-Design 15 kW, VLT 35 ° C). This high efficiency reduces the running costs and brings the quietest technology of its kind to your home. This is achieved by utilising:

  • Horizontal outside heat exchanger rather than the more basic vertical design. The larger horizontal surface area captures more energy from air and rainwater.
  • Larger fin spacing inside the outdoor unit allows higher air volume to pass through the fins without generating noise. This spacing is about 3 times wider than basic designs and reduces air turbulence and noise.
  • Split system design uses refrigeration pipework to connect the outside and inside units. This approach increases the efficiency and service life in comparison to basic monobloc designs.
  • Whisper-quiet modulating fan automatically defrosts the fins when required. Rather than using electricity for fin defrost, the Air Eagle reverses the cycle and uses energy stored in the hot water tank. This exclusive feature reduces the running cost.
  • Powder coated stainless steel and inverter technology developed by OCHSNER. 

Inverter technology

The power-controlled compressors used by Ochsner continuously adapt to the heat demand that you actually need; this leads to high efficiency and lower annual work rate, avoiding unnecessary switching. With a measured annual workload (SCOP) of 4.5, the OCHSNER AIR EAGLE is the world’s most efficient variable speed air/water heat pump ever measured at the Buchs (Switzerland) heat pump test centre. The OCHSNER AIR EAGLE operate without a buffer storage saving on space.

Highest quality components for well-being and safety

The variable-speed top compressors adapt to the required room heat. The speed-controlled fans also make it possible to implement a silent mode to reduce noise emissions even further. The connection to the low-noise heat pump indoor unit with all the heating components is made simply by a cable harness developed and produced by OCHSNER and two pre-assembled high-purity refrigeration copper pipes. To avoid unwanted heat transfer losses, OCHSNER insulates twice as much as standard refrigeration copper pipes.
